History and achievements
Lamontville Golden Arrows is a football club in South Africa, located in Durban. It was founded in 1943 in a township in Durban, Lamontville. In the first half of the 1970s the team played in the National Professional Soccer League before they faced relegation and dropped in 1976. In 1996, the team was formed once again and the Madlalas family bought franchise of Ntokozo FC and became the owner changing the name into Lamontville Golden Arrows.
In 1999/2000 the team became the National First Division Coastal Stream (now known as the Mvela League) winners and gained promotion to the top division. In 2009, Golden Arrows won the MTN 8, beating Ajax Cape Town 6-0.
Their home ground is King Zwelithini Stadium, located in Durban. Its capacity is 10,000.
