Guangzhou R&F is a Chinese soccer team located in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The club currently performs in the Chinese top tier.
In 1986 the local Shenyang government sports body established a new club under the name of Shenyang. In 1998 the team mounted a promotion push, however in the following season the club finished bottom and fell into the second division. In 2001 Ginde Plastic Pipe Industry Group took over the club and inherited the name of Shenyang Ginde. The club used to play its home matches at Wulihe Stadium but in 2007 the stadium was shut and the team moved to Changsha.
In the 2010 season the side slipped in the second tier. Soon MAZAMBA purchased the club and changed its name to Shenzhen Phoenix. In the spring of 2011 the team was hit by financial woes and it escaped bankruptcy by the skin of its teeth after it was sold to Chinese property developers Guangzhou R&F. Later the side relocated to Guangzhou. In the 2011 campaign the club finished runners-up and was promoted to the Chinese Super League.
Now Guangzhou R&F plays its home matches at the Yuexiushan Stadium. The official colours are blue and white.
