Gyeongnam FC is a professional football club from Changwon, South Korea. The side plays in the K-League.
Gyeongnam FC was originally established in 2006. Its first campaign in the K League Classic saw the team claim a third-place finish. In the year of 2007 Roses ended the season in the fourth place. After the club’s top goalscorer Cabore departed for FC Tokyo, Gyeongnam’s fortunes took a nosedive. Cho Kwang-Rae took charge of the club. He managed to revive the team’s fortunes. In 2008 Gyeongnam progressed to the Korean FA Cup final. However, Roses were defeated by Pohang Steelers.
In the 2010 campaign the club enjoyed a nine-match unbeaten league run. In 2012 the team reached the last stage of the KFA Cup but again the club was defeated finalists.
Gyeongnam’s home kit features a red shirt with a diagonal black stripe on it and black shorts. In 2010 Roses relocated to their new ground – Changwon Football Center.
