Hapoel Acre is an Israeli football club that was organized in 1946. For more than three decades after the team was created Hapoel Acre competed in the minor leagues. It was not until the season 1973/1974 that the team competed in the promotion play-offs for a right to play in the top flight, yet the attempt was not successful. In the season 1975/1976 Hapoel was finally promoted to the first tier, thought the run lasted only for a season.
In the 1990s Hapoel continued rotating between second and third leagues. The season 2003/2004 saw the side returning to the top tier of Israeli football pyramid.
In the season 2005/2006 the team claimed its only silverware in the form of the Toto Cup, defeating in the final Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
The home arena of the side is Acre Municipal Stadium that can hold up to has 5,000 football fans. The chairman is Tzion Weitzman.
