Huddersfield Town is an English football club that was created in 1908. A decade later the team was a step away from disappearing when it endured serious financial problems, yet it was rescued by the citizens of Huddersfield that bought shares of the club for a price £1 each.
The most successful spell in the club’s history started in 1920s when the side progressed to the FA Cup final and received promotion to the top flight. That period also brought the team three successive title of the national championship. Later the team claimed the FA Cup and before World War II finished as a runner-up 4 times.
The year 1952 saw the club dropping in a class. The club embarked on a downward spiral and rotated between the lower divisions for more than 50 years failing to reach promotion to the top flight. The team managed to win a ticket to the Championship only in 2011.
The badge of the club is based on the coat of arms of Huddersfield. The nickname of the team is the Terriers. The colors of the team are white and blue. The home ground is John Smith’s Stadium that has a capacity of 24,500.
