Jeju United Football Club is a South Korean football side from Jeju. The club performs in the K-League. It is the founder member of the Korean top tier.
Jeju United was born on December 17, 1983 under the name of Yukong Football Club. In the mid 1980s the club languished at the bottom of the table. In 1989 Jeju United romped to the K-League crown, the team’s first professional title. The titles obtained by the side also include 3 K-League Cups. In 2004 Jeju United progressed to the FA Cup final but the club was defeated finalists. The year of 2006 saw the team move from Seoul to Jeju and change its name to the current one. In the 2010 campaign Jeju claimed a second-place finish.
From 1995 to 1998 Russian specialist Valeri Nepomniachi trained the squad. The home kit features orange shirts and black shorts. All home matches are hosted by Jeju World Cup Stadium.
