Karlsruher SC is a football club in Germany, based in Karlsruhe, he state of Baden-Württemberg. The team has several predecessors, which merged or split into separate clubs. Karlsruher Fussball Club Phönix is known as a founding member, though the club had faced many changes throughout its history.
In 1952 KFC Phoenix merged with VfB Mühlburg and in 1963 the team entered newly founded Bundesliga. After five seasons there, the team dropped to the second tier Regionalliga Süd. They advanced to the top division in 1975/76 and then were relegated and promoted several times.
In 1993/94 KSC reached the semifinals of the UEFA Cup. In the 1996/97 and 1997/98 seasons they reached the third round of UEFA Cups. KSC was the finalist of the German Cup in 1996.
In 1998 they were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga and in 1999/2000 the failed to ensure a spot in it and dropped to Regionalliga Süd for one season. Until 2007/08 they played in the 2. Bundesliga and the 2008/09 season KSC spent in the top flight though finished 17th and again were sent to the 2. Bundesliga. In 2012/13 they won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga.
Wildparkstadion , where Karlsruher SC play their home games was built in 1955 and was renovated several times. It has a capacity of 29,699 spectators.
