FK Khazar Lankaran is an Azerbaijani football team from the city of Lankaran founded in 2004. The team got considerable financing from their founder, an Azerbaijani entrepreneur Mubariz Mansimov and even got the moniker Caucasian Chelsea.
The 2006/07 season was a glorious campaign for Khazar as they won the Premier League title and claimed their first Azerbaijan Cup. They have collected another two cups since then but have never reached the same league heights again. However, Khazar established themselves as a prominent team always finishing in the upper half of the table. In 2008, they were crowned champions of the CIS Cup beating Pakhtakor Tashkent in the final. They also got a taste of UEFA competitions participating in the Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Cup.
The team play their home matches at Lankaran City Stadium which can hold up to 15,000 spectators.
