FC Lahti is a football club in Finland named after the city it is located in. It was founded in 1996 as a result of the merger of two Viipuri football clubs, FC Kuusysi and Reipas Lahti. These teams were forced to move to Lahti after Viipuri had become a part of USSR in 1947 and after the merger, in 1997 FC Lahti played in Ykkönen, the second highest division. In 1998 they won promotion to the top flight and played there till the relegation in 2010.
In 2007 Lahti claimed the Finnish League Cup victory and in 2008 they were third in Veikkausliiga, thus made their first appearance in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League.
Lahti Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium, which was built in 1981 and has a capacity of 14,500.
