FC Lausanne-Sport is a Swiss football club that was established in 1896 under the name Montriond Lausanne, though according to some resources the Lausanne Football and Cricket Club that appeared in 1860 was be the main predecessor of the team. After merging with Club Hygiénique de Lausanne the team received its current name. The team started competing in the first division in 1906 and for most of the 20th century played in the top flight.
The most glorious era in the club’s history started in 1912 when Lausanne claimed its first title of the Ligue Nationale. In the following 50 years the club finished atop of the league 6 more times and clinched six Swiss Cups. The last major success of the team was the 1999 Swiss Cup.
In 2002 the club was declared to be bankrupt and was reestablished to the fourth division, though eight years later Lausanne received promotion to the first division.
The president of the club is Jean-François Collet. The home stadium is Olympique de la Pontaise with a capacity of 15,850.
