Milton Keynes Dons F.C. is a football club that was founded on 21 June 2004 as a replacement for the football side Wimbledon that went through administration. Originally the side they claimed the history of Wimbledon, yet stopped doing so in 2007.
Before the season 2007/2008 the club selected former England player Paul Ince as a manager. Under his helm MK Dons climbed to the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy where they defeated Grimsby Town and earned their first trophy. The side capped the title win with the League Two championship and received promotion to the League One.
Ince’s replacement was Roberto Di Matteo who brought the side to the 3rd place the season 2008/2009 missing out to an automatic promotion place by two points.
In the 2010/2011 campaign the team was led by Karl Robinson who was appointed at the post at the age of 29, becoming the youngest head coach in the Football League.
The best run of the side in the FA Cup is the Fifth Round of the tournament in the season 2012/2013.
The home ground of the team is Stadium mk that can sit up to 22,000.
