Motherwell is a Scottish football club that appeared on 27 May 1886 when the teams Glencairn and Alpha merged in a new club. In 1913 the team adopted the famous club colors claret and amber.
The only time the club claimed the title of the First Division was in the season 1931/1932. In the 1930s the side reached three Scottish cup finals (1931, 1933 and 1939), yet did not manage to grab the trophy.
The 1950s brought the club victories in the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup. Since that the side did not manage to threaten to hit those heights again. In the season 2011/2012 the side finished 3rd.
The home arena of the side is Fir Park Stadium that can hold up to 13,742.The nicknames of the team are the Steelmen, the Dossers and the Well.
