Navbahor Namangan

Navbahor Namangan is an Uzbekistani club founded in the city of Namangan in 1974.

At their early years Navbahor competed in the lower leagues of the Soviet Union. After the USSR breakup in 1992, the team got into newly formed Uzbek League, the top tier of Uzbekistani football. The 1990s saw the glorious years for Navbahor. In 1992, they claimed their first silverware in the form of the Uzbekistani Cup and repeated the feat in 1995 and 1998. The team finished third in the league three seasons in a row, from 1993 to 1995, and finally won their first Uzbek League title in 1996. It’s a tidbit that Navbahor is one of three Uzbekistani clubs to participate in all the seasons of the Uzbek League. In 1999, the club recorded the Uzbekistan Super Cup and finished fourth in the 1999/2000 Asian Cup Winners Cup. However, in the 2000s Navbahor went into the shade with the third-place finish in the top flight in the 2004 season as their best result during the decade.

Navbahor Namangan play their home matches at Markaziy Stadium which can host up to 33,000 spectators.
