FC Nitra is a football club in Slovakia, founded in 1909. The best result in Czechoslovakian League was the second place in 1962. Their first season the Slovak Super Liga was in 1994, but they were relegated for a season, and then advanced but again faced relegation. In 2001 the team dropped to the Second Division and spent there five seasons. Having advanced to the top division, the team finished fifth in 2005/06.
Under the guidance of Pavel Hapal in 2007/08 Nitra finished Super Liga third. In 2010/11 they played in the UEFA Europa League, where they faced ETO Győr and lost in the first qualifying round 3-5 on aggregate.
The team won Slovak Cup in 1974/75, 1982/83, 1986/87 and 1990/91. Štadión pod Zoborom is the team’s home ground. It has a capacity of 11,384.
