Numancia is a football team from the city of Soria. The side was organized in 1945. Originally the club also included the departments of volleyball, handball and gymnastics.
The name of the club refers to the ancient Celtiberian town that existed near the Soria. From the middle 1940s up to the 1980s Numancia competed in the third division and it was not until the 1997/1998 campaign when the side made its debut in the second league. During the 2000s the club won promotion to the top league four times, yet the small side did not stand a chance securing a place in the top tier for more than a season.
The best result of the team in the national cup was the quarterfinals of the 1995/1996 campaign.
The home ground of the club is called Los Pajaritos and it can sit up to 9,000 supporters.
