Ordabasy

History and achievements

Ordabasy is a Kazakh football club from Shymkent. The team was established in 1998 when the clubs Zhiger and Tomiris merged to form the team under the title Dostyk. In 2003 the club received the name Ordabasy.Ordabasy holds the history of the both clubs mentioned above.

The clubs achievements are the second place in the Kazakhstan Super League in 1992 and quarter-finals of the Asian Cup Winners Cup in the season 1996/1997. During the recent campaigns the club’s fortunes changed dramatically and Ordabasy managed to cement a mid-table position and claimed the 2011 Kazakhstan Cup and the 2012 Kazakhstan Super Cup.

The farthest the team progressed in the Europa League was the second qualifying round in the season 2012/2013.

The club’s home ground is K.Munaitpasov Stadium with the capacity of 37,000.
