Paysandu Sport Club is a Brazilian football team from Belém, Pará state, founded in 1914.
Paysandu claimed their first silverware in 1920 which was the Campeonato Paraense title. Overall, the club won 44 state championships in between 1920 and 2010 establishing themselves as the most titled team in the State of Pará. The 2000s saw a fruitful period for the team. In 2002, Paysandu welcomed regional Copa Norte to their trophy cabinet and also recorded the Brazilian Champions’ Cup. Paysandu announced about themselves internationally when they made their first run into the Copa Libertadores in 2003. In the 2012 season, the team finished third in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C and got promotion to the second tier but went back in the following season.
The team play their home matches at Estádio da Curuzú which can host up to 12,000 spectators.
