Real Madrid Castilla is a reserve team of Real Madrid.
The first team that became the feeder of Real Madrid was called Agrupación Deportiva Plus Ultra and was established in 1930. In 1952 they became the official reserve team of the Galagticos. In the 1970s the team was disbanded due to financial reasons. The new reserve team became Castilla CF. The side progressed to the final of the 1979/1980 Copa del Rey, competed in the European Cup Winners Cup and claimed the title of the Segunda División.
In 1991 the side adopted the title Real Madrid B. In the 2000s the name was changed to Real Madrid Castilla.
Real Madrid Castilla is not eligible for promotion to La Liga and for competing in the Copa del Rey.
The team home ground is called Alfredo di Stéfano and can hold up to 12,000- supporters.
