San Jose Earthquakes is a football club from San Jose, USA, founded in 1995. The team is often nicknamed as The Boys in Blue.
San Jose was one of the MLS founders in 1995. In 1995-1999 team’s official name was San Jose Clash.
Initially Earthquakes were the outsiders, but later became one of the best MLS teams managing to clinch the MLS Cup twice. At the end of 2005 the team was disbanded and the whole club staff moved to Houston. In 2008 the club was revived.
Buck Shaw Stadium with the capacity of 10,525 and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (47,416) are the Earthquakes’ home arenas.
Earthquakes Soccer, LLC, is the team’s owner. Frank Yallop is the head coach.
San Jose main colors are sky-blue, black and white.
