Smouha Sporting Club is an Egyptian club recently promoted to the Egyptian Premier League. It was founded in 1949 in Smouha, the area of Alexandria.
The club competed in the lower Egyptian divisions for a long time. It made a breakthrough finishing a runner-up in the 2008/09 Egyptian Second Division after losing the crucial match to Kafr El-Zayat. The 2009/10 season brought the team true glory as they beat Abu Qair Semad in a decisive match in April and earned promotion to the 2010/11 Egyptian Premier League for the first time ever. Smouha had a difficult start finishing 15th in the table.
The team give credit to their current president Egyptian millionaire and parliament member Mohamed Farag Amer who contributed much to their development and success. Smouha plays its home matches at Alexandria Stadium which can hold up to 13,660 people.
