FK Teplice is a Czech Republic football club, founded in 1945, after World War II. Shortly after that the team promoted to the Czechoslovak First League and competed either in the First or in the Second Divisions. After 1989, when the Velvet Revolution took place, Glaverbel became the team’s sponsor. Teplice played in the Second Division and the 1995/96 season they were second in the Czech 2. Liga thus advanced to the top division of the Gambrinus liga.
In the 1998/99 the team finished Gambrinus liga runner-up. That allowed the team to participate in the 1999/2000 UEFA Champions League but they were eliminated by Borussia Dortmund. In 2003 Teplice won their first domestic title, the Czech Republic Football Cup 2003, and entered the third round of the 2003/04 UEFA Cup, but lost to Celtic. The second Czech Republic Football Cup came in 2009 and competed in the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League, where their first game was a 2-3 loss at Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The team’s home venue is Na Stínadlech, which has 18,221 seats.
