Torpedo Kutaisi is a football club in Georgia, named after the city it is located in. It was founded in 1946 and in 1959 in Kutaisi two football clubs, FC Torpedo Kutaisi and FC Locomotive Kutaisi, merged. Torpedo Kutaisi made their Soviet Top League debut in 1962.
Since 1990 the team competed in Georgian National Championships and the team’s name was changed to FC Kutaisi, but then returned the name of Torpedo Kutaisi. They were Umaglesi Liga title winners for three consecutive seasons 2000, 2001 and 2002. In 1999 and 2001 Torpedo won Georgian Cup.
After the 2004/05 season the team faced dissolution and after that a new team was formed. It has the name of Torpedo Kutaisi. In 2005/06 and 2006/07 the team played in Umaglesi Liga and then dropped to the second division, Pirveli Liga. In 2008/09 Torpedo Kutaisi became FC Torpedo 2008 and in 2010 FC Torpedo Kutaisi was restored.
Givi Kiladze Stadium in Kutaisi, where the team play their home matches, has a capacity of 14,700.
