History and achievements
Ural is a Russian football club that was founded in 1930.
Throughout their history the club was also called Zenit, Mashinostroitel, and Uralmash.
The side started competing in the Soviet championship in 1945 and mostly stayed in the higher leagues. The best run of the side in the domestic cup was in the seasons 1965/1966, 1967/1968, and 1990/1991. The highest place the team reached in Russian top flight was the eighth position in 1993 and 1995.
The club played in the top league till 1996 when they were relegated to the first Division.
The club’s nicknames are Uraltsy (Ural men), Bumblebees, Orange and Black. Central Stadium is the home ground of the club that can hold up to 25 000 supporters.
