Zestafoni is a football club in Georgia. The city Zestafoni has a long football history, as the first two teams were formed in 1930s, then Metallurgi was founded in 1938 and played till 1989. In 1990 FC Margveti Zestafoni was established but in 2003/04 it was dissolved. The current FC Zestafoni was established on 18 June 2004 by the shareholders of JSC Giorgi Nikoladze Zestafoni Ferro-Alloy Plant.
The team’s home venue is David Abashidze stadium, which was built in 1952 and since 2004 is used by FC Zestafoni. It has a capacity of 4,558 seats.
The team won Umaglesi Liga in 2010/11 and 2011/12. In 2008 Zestafoni won the Georgian Cup, in 2012 and 2013 they won Georgian Super Cup trophies. Due to the success in the domestic tournaments they competed in 2008/09 UEFA Cup, 2009/10 and 2010/11 UEFA Europa League.
