Elisha Levy is a former professional football player, currently the head coach of Hapoel Be’er Sheva. Levy was born on 18 November 1957 in Jerusalem, Israel.
Back when he was a player, Elisha played for clubs such as Hapoel Beit She’an, Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Petah Tikva. He retired from football in 1989.
Immediately after the completion of his playing career, Elisha Levy was appointed head coach of Hapoel Beit She’an. For six years at the club, Levy reached the greatest success in the 1992/93 season, by leading his club to victory in Alef League, and then greatly contributing to the club’s ascension to the top division of the Israeli football.
In 1995 Levy became he head coach of Maccabi Herzliya, but was sacked after a poor beginning of the season. In the following year he moved to Tzafririm Holon, where he stayed until 1997. In 1997 he returned to Hapoel Beit She’an.
From 1999 to 2001 he was manager of Ironi Rishon LeZion. In the 1998/99 season Levy led the club to their record-high sixth place in the championship. In 2001, with the arrival of new owners, he was fired from the club.
In the 2001/02 season Levy managed F.C. Ashdod and managed to lead the club to the 4th place, which enabled them to play in the Intertoto Cup. In the same season he helped his club to reach the finals of Toto Cup, where they lost to Hapoel Tel Aviv.
In the 2006/07 season Levy was able to bring Bnei Sakhnin to the Israeli Premier League, and in the following season led them to their record 4th place in the championship. On 2 April 2008 it was announced that Elisha Levy will be manager of Maccabi Haifa. In 2009 and 2011 he led his team to victory in the Israeli Premier League.
In May 2012 Elisha Levy signed a contract with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
