Gerardo Cono Pelusso Boyrie was born in 1954 in Uruguay. He started his playing career in Uruguayan team Nacional, then went on in Colon, Liverpool MVD. The season 1976/77 he spent with Atlético Potosino. In 1978 he moved to Ecuador, where he played for Deportivo Quito, LDU Quito and Emelec. At the age of 29 he finished his playing career because of the injury.
During his managerial career he headed different South American teams. So he coached Ecuadorian Emelec and Aucas, Uruguayan Florida and Liverpool MVD, Racing Club de Montevideo, Danubio Fútbol Club, Cerro, Chilean Club Deportes Iquique S.A.D.P., O’Higgins Fútbol Club, Everton Viña, Peruvian Club Alianza Lima.
In 2011 Pelusso headed a Paraguayan club Olimpia. His results captured the attention of Paraguayan Football Association and he was offered a position of head coach in the Paraguayan national team. However, one year later Pelusso was released form the position.
