Jaroslav Šilhavý is a football manager. Currently he is guiding FC Slovan Liberec. He was born in 1961 in Plzeň, Czechoslovakia and came through the youth ranks of TJ Chotěšov, ČSAD Plzeň and Škoda Plzeň. His professional career began at TJ Škoda Plzeň, after that he played for RH Cheb, SK Slavia Prague, Petra Drnovice and the last club he played for was FK Viktoria Žižkov.
Šilhavý represented the Czechoslovakia U21 national team and then earned four caps for the senior squad, making his debut on 29 August 1990 in the match against Finland.
He became the assistant coach at Viktoria Žižkov. Between 2001 and 2009 Šilhavý was an assistant at the Czech Republic national team and during that period ha was the assistant at AC Sparta Praha, then worked as a manager of AC Sparta Prague B team, SK Kladno and had a short period at FC Viktoria Plzeň.
Šilhavý guided SK Dynamo České Budějovice and since June 2011 he’s been at the helm of FC Slovan Liberec. In the 2011/12 season the team won Gambrinus liga thus earning the chance to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
