Manuel Jesualdo Ferreira is a football manager from Portugal.
He was born in 1946. His managerial career was given a start in 1981, when he took charge of Rio Maior. Then he had short spells at Torreense, Académica de Coimbra, Atlético, between 1986 and 1990 he guided Torreense, then headed Estrela da Amadora.
In 1996 he became an assistant manager of the Portugal under-21 national team and worked there till 2000. Then he had short spells at Alverca, Benfica and in April 2003 he switched to Sporting Clube de Braga. He helped the team to avoid relegation and the following three seasons the team was fourth and then twice finished third.
Between 2006 and 2010 Jesualdo Ferreira was the manager of FC Porto. During his stay at Porto, they won Primeira Liga in 2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09; twice they were Portuguese Cup holders. The 2009/10 season was a failure, as the team finished third in the league and didn’t get a spot in the Champions League, so Jesualdo Ferreira was sacked.
From June till November 2010 he stayed in Spain, guiding Málaga. The following two years he was the manager of Panathinaikos and after that he returned to Portugal, where he was an administrative at Sporting C.P. before January 2013, when he was appointed the manager.
At the end of the season Ferreira switched for Braga. However, six months later Ferreira was released from duties at the club.
