José Júlio de Carvalho Peyroteo Martins Couceiro is a Portuguese retired footballer, a football manager. He was born in 1962 and played for such teams as Montijo, Berreirense, Atlético CP, Torreense, Oriental, Torreense and Estrela da Amadora.
José Couceiro took over his managerial career in 2002 when he became the manager of Alverca. In 2004/05 he was the head coach of Vitória de Setúbal and then had a spell at Porto. In 2005/06 Couceiro guided Belenenses and then was appointed the manager of the Portugal U21 national team. He left Portugal for Lithuania, where he guided FBK Kaunas and then the Lithuania national team, though they failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
Couceiro was appointed the head coach of Gaziantepspor in April 2009, in 2011 he was the caretaker of Sporting CP for some time and in the 2011/12 season he guided Lokomotiv Moscow.
