Leonardo Rubén Astrada is an Argentine manager. He was born in 1970 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Leonardo Astrad spent almost entire playing career at River Plate, from 1988 till 2003, except a short interval at Brazilian side Grêmio. All in all Astrada made 405 appearances for the Argentinean team. Astrada represented the national team and made 32 appearances. In 1998, he was a part of the Argentinean national squad winning FIFA World Cup.
In 2004, he took over as a manager of River Plate, working there from January 2004 to October 2005, and then he headed Rosario Central, after that he coached Colón de Santa Fe and Estudiantes de La Plata. Then he returned to River Plate but didn’t stay there for a long time moving to Cerro Porteño and then to Argentinos Juniors in 2012. In November 2012 Astrada was released from the club.
