A former Spanish footballer, Luis García Plaza, was born in Madrid on December 1, 1972.
During his relatively short career, Luis never played in a better league than La Segunda. He played for Atlético B (1991-1994), Yeclano CF (1994-1995), Rayo Vallecano CF (1995-1996), Talavera CF (1995) and Benidorm CF (1996-2000). In 2000, Luis García had to finish his career as a player due to a very serious injury.
Thus, when in the prime of his career as a footballer (at 28), Luis decided to continue his career as a coach. First, he coached clubs of the third Spanish division. Having acquired experience as a head coach, García was ‘promoted’ to coach La Segunda clubs: Villareal B (2005/2006), Elche (2006/2007) and Benidorm (2007/2008). In 2008, the coach joined Levante CF (a La Segunda club at that time) and in two years he finally made the way to La Liga. In 2011, Luis García became head coach of Getafe CF and guided the team till March 2014.
