Mirjalol Qosimov is a former football player, currently manager of Uzbekistan. Qosimov started his playing career in football club Pakhtakor from Tashkent in 1987. During his playing years Qosimov stayed in a number of clubs, including Dinamo Minsk, Alania Vladikavkaz, Krylia Sovetov and Mash'al Mubarek.
As a forward he scored more than 200 goals in his playing career; 4 times he was named the best player in Uzbekistan. He also skippered the national team of Uzbekistan for a long time, overall making 67 appearances for the national side and scoring 31 goals.
Qosimov entered into coaching in 2005 when he was appointed as a manager of FC Mash'al Mubarek, yet a year later he joined Uzbekistan Olympic team as a co-trainer. After a spell in Bunyodkor in 2007 when the team reached the semi-final of the AFC Champions League, he was appointed as a boss of Uzbekistan national team on a permanent basis.
