Mirko Slomka, a German coach, was born in Hildesheim on September 12, 1967.
Mirko gained his football experience in such Oberliga teams as JSG Nord, SC Harsum, Stern Misburg, Fortuna Sachsenross Hannover. Slomka finished his playing career in Hannover 96.
In 1998, Mirko began to coach Hannover 96 youth squad and in 1999 he joined Tennis Borussia Berlin U19. In 2001, Slomka became Hannover 96 assistant head coach. 3 years later he got the same position in Schalke 04. On January 10, 2010, Mirko Slomka signed a contract with Hannover 96 to become the club head coach. He had a four-year spell with the club.
In February 2014 Slomka replaced Bert van Marwijk at the helm of struggling Hamburg.
