Miroslav Beranek was born on April 24, 1957 in Benesov, Czechoslovakia.
He started his playing career in Tesla Votice and played for several Czech football clubs. Beranek made 128 appearances for Slavia Prague.
He finished his playing career in Austrian SV Gmünd, where he started his managerial career.
Heading the Czech Republic U21 team Miroslav Beranek led them to the 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship victory. That was his most notable achievement as a tactician.
He also headed several clubs in Czech Republic, coached a Hungarian Debreceni VSC and in the United Arab Emirates he guided Al Wasl FC.
From 2011 to 2013 he was the head coach of the Kazakhstan national football team.
