Paul Lambert was born on 7 August 1969 in Linwood, Scotland. He is a former Scottish player and current manager of Aston Villa.
From 1980, Lambert was a player of Linwood Rangers Boys’ Club youth team. In 1985, he joined St. Mirren. In 1986/1987, at the age of 17, Paul lifted the Scottish Cup.
In 1993/1994, Lambert transferred to Motherwell that finished 3rd in the Scottish Premier League and became runners-up the following year. In 1995/1996, Paul signed for Borussia Dortmund.
In November 1997, Paul was bought by Celtic. The 2005/06 season was the last in his footballer career and Lambert spent it in Livingston, where he performed as a playing coach.
From 1995 till 2003, Lambert was playing for the Scotland national team and used to be a captain.
After a go-round with Livingston, Paul became Wycombe Wonderers manager. In 2007/2008, the club managed to make their way through to the Championship, but lost in the play-offs and Lambert was dismissed.
On 9 October 2008, Paul was appointed Colchester United manager and the club finished at the 12th place.
After that, Lambert was put in charge of Norwich City. In 2009/2010, he led his team to the Championship. In 2010/11 the team was promoted to the Premier League and managed to stay there in the first season.
On 2 June 2012, Paul was confirmed as Aston Villa new manager.
