Ricki Lloyd Herbert is a New Zealand retired football player. He was born in 1961 and currently he is the manager of the New Zealand national football team.
Herbert played for several teams in New Zealand and Australia. He had tenure at Wolverhampton Wanderers in England.
He was a part of New Zealand under-20 national team and played for the national team, where he earned 61 caps and scored 7 goals.
Herbert started his coaching career in 1990 at Papakura City AFC. He headed Papatoetoe AFC and Central United and in 1999 he took charge of the New Zealand Under-23 national team. Later he was appointed the head coach of the New Zealand Under-17 national team.
In 2004 he became the Director of Technical Development of the New Zealand Olympic campaign and in February 2005 he headed the national team. Herbert double-jobbed managing New Zealand Knights for one season and in 2007 he took charge of the Wellington Phoenix.
