Roger De Sá is a manager and a former South African professional player. Roger was born on 1 October 1964 in Maputo, Mozambique.
He’s the product of the youth ranks of Uniao Desportivo Johannesburg. In 1984, he grabbed the first pro contract with Kwikot Benoni and his playing career started off. Roger operated as a goalkeeper for such clubs as Defence Forces, Jeppe, Moroka Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns and Wits University. On international level, he earned a single call for the South Africa full side in 1993.
In 2001, De Sá was appointed as the manager for Wits University and his coaching career began. In 2003, he was awarded with the title of the Coach of the Season. In 2005, he was the coach of Santos, but very soon he rejoined The Students, where he remained until 2012. In September 2012, Roger started coaching Orlando Pirates and guided the team to the third place in ABSA Premiership. In January 2014 the manager was released from the club.
De Sá used to represent the motherland in three sports – basketball, soccer and arena soccer (commonly known as an indoor football).
