Steve Davis is a former football player turned manager. He was born on 26 July 1965 in Birmingham and started his career as an apprentice with Stoke City in 1982 spending in the team a season.
In 1983 he penned a deal with Crewe Alexandra where he made his debut at the age of 18 and was named the captain of the side aged 19. He stayed in the team for four years and featured in 140 matches. His next club was Burnley where he also became one of the key players. Later Davis moved to Barnsley and won promotion to the Premier League. He also had spells at York City, Oxford United, Macclesfield Town, Northwich Victoria and Nantwich Town.
In June 2003 he was appointed at the managerial position at Nantwich Town. On 10 November 2011 Davis was appointed as manager of Crewe Alexandra.
