Vadim Abramov is a football manager, born in 1953 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Between 2003 and 2005 he was the head coach of Traktor Tashkent and then worked as an assistant coach of the Uzbekistan national team. In 2008 Abramov became the manager of Lokomotiv Tashkent and guided them until 2010.
In April 2010 he took charge of the Uzbekistan national team and led them to the semifinals of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, where Uzbekistan was beaten by Australia and then they lost to South Korea, thus finished fourth. Vadim Abramov was named Uzbekistan Football Coach of the Year in 2011 but on 4 June 2012 he resigned after 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Iran, ended in a 0-1 loss.
