Yury Morozov was a famous football coach from the Soviet Union. During his playing career he had successful stints in Zenit Leningrad, Admiralteyets and FC Dinamo Leningrad.
After finishing his playing career at the age of 31 Yury Morozov worked at FC Zenit’s youth academy.
Morozov joined Valery Lobanovsky’s USSR coaching staff and helped the famous manager at the 1976 Olympics as the Soviet team claimed bronze and in their run to the 1988 UEFA European Championship final. He also worked with Lobanovsky at clubs in the Middle East at the helm of the Kuwaiti national side.
His career as the head coach started in Zenit. He led the club to the third place in the Soviet top flight in 1980 and the champions’ title in 1984.
