The Antigua and Barbuda national football team stands for its country on the international level and is supervised by the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association.
Antigua and Barbuda has quite meager achievements for all its history. The team is ranked 101st as for 2012 FIFA rankings. In the year 2011, it enjoyed even better fortune taking up 83rd position in the FIFA table – a feat never accomplished before. The team showed its best result when it finished 4th in the 1998 Caribbean Cup.
It appeared neither in the FIFA World Cups nor in the CONCACAF championships until 2012. But Antigua and Barbuda is reportedly joined the CONCACAF qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup.
The team made its debut in 1984 in a match against Haiti. Its greatest breakthrough was a brilliant 10-0 win over the United States Virgin Islands.
