The China PR national football team represents the People’s Republic of China is controlled by the Chinese Football association, founded in 1924. It became the member of FIFA in 1931.
The team participated in the World Cup qualifying in 1958. In the period from 1982 till 1998 China couldn’t make it through the qualifying campaign.
The first time China reached the World Cup was in 2002 where the team didn’t manage to score a goal. Nevertheless the participation in that championship was the team’s most notable achievement.
In 2011 Jose Antonio Camacho headed the team to guide them for the 2014 World Cup. They won one game against Singapore out of four matches with Iraq, Jordan and Singapore and failed to qualify for the major championship.
