The Congo national football team represents the Republic of the Congo and it is controlled by the Federation Congolaise de Football.
The team made its debut in the competition for French-speaking nations, the L'Amitié tournament in 1960, held in Madagascar where they defeated Reunion 4-1.
The team has never participated in the World Cup championships and appeared in the Africa Cup of Nations finals for six times. Winning the 1972 Africa Cup of Nations is the best ever result achieved, later in 1992 the squad played in quarterfinal.
The team's home stadium is Stade de la Revolution.
