History and achievements
The Jamaica national football team is governed by the Jamaica Football Federation. The team reached their first World Cup finals in 1998 to start enjoying wide popularity among fans all over the world. Jamaica won the Caribbean Cup five times (1991, 1998, 2005, 2008 and 2010) and twice finished third and second.
The team has gone into recession lately. In 2007 the squad didn’t perform well in the Caribbean Cup what prevented them from participation in the CONCACAF Gold Cup championship.
Winfried Schäfer has headed the team since 2013. Durrant Brown, Ricardo Gardner, Marcus Anthony Gayle, Kevin Lisbie, Damion Stewart are Jamaica’s famous football players.
