Libyan Football Federation takes control over the Libya national football team. It was founded in 1962 and in 1964 became the member of FIFA. The first appearance the team made was on July 29, 1953, when Egypt beat Libya 10-2.
It is one of the most powerful teams in African Continent and has 39th position in the FIFA World Rankings.
In 1982 Libya finished runner-up in Africa Cup of Nations and in 1986 was close to qualifying for the World Cup championship but lost the chance.
Tariq Al-Taib is the most capped team’s player. The team wears white kit.
