Turks and Caicos Islands national team is a minnow in the international football arena. It is supervised by the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association which was established in 1996.
The team made their official debut in a 2002 World Cup qualification match against St. Kitts and Nevis in March 2000. Their debut ended in defeat. It took Turks and Caicos eight years to celebrate their first World Cup qualification victory over Saint Lucia in February 2008. It’s a tidbit that apart from that moderate success, the team managed to win only one game against Cayman Isles thus amassing only two victories throughout all their history.
Turks and Caicos Islands currently hold the lowest 207th position in the FIFA ranking. They reached the 158th place in the table at the utmost.
