Adebayor quits Togo national team

ESPN states that Tottenham and Togo forward Emmanuel Adebayor has decided to pull out of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations due to the dissatisfaction with the way the Togo FA handles players’ bonuses.

The 28 year-old Sparrow Hawks’ skipper states that the Togo FA refused to pay the due and owing bonuses for the friendly game with Morocco. The Togo FA responded that the money was spent on the air tickets and the hotel accommodation for the players.

Adebayor has made 54 Togo caps so far, scoring 26 goals.
