André Villas-Boas: Bale is one of the world’s best players

Tottenham coach André Villas-Boas revealed that he reckons Bale to be one of the world’s best players, after the winger has netted hat-trick in Boxing Day’s Spurs 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

Tottenham have delighted the home crowd with a marvelous attacking display, thrashing 4-0 hapless Aston Villa. The highlight of the game was undoubtedly a superb hat-trick from Spurs’ winger Gareth Bale which is the first in his Premier League career.

Asked if he can compare Bale to some of the greatest football talents, AVB said: “He is up there with the best.”

“He is showing tremendous skills and talent, I think he is improving every day - he is such a young player - and he is helping the team. He is one of our major assets,” said AVB.
