Arsenal hot on the trail of Barcelona starlet

Arsenal are weighting up a move for Barcelona defender Julio Pleguezuelo, after the youngster has rejected a contract offer from the La Liga giants.

The 16-year-old Spaniard, the La Masia apprentice, put Premier League clubs on alert saying he is keen making a move to England. Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City are set to battle for the signature of the player, who has bags of ability. It is believed Pleguezuelo could follow the footsteps of Fabregas and become one of the Premier League brightest stars.

Barcelona are also set to lose Ecuadorian midfielder Josimar, who has also rejected offer of a new contract. Both players feel they can get more lucrative contracts in England.
