Arsenal prepared to offload Szczesny

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is dissatisfied with the recent performances of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and could be eager to part ways with the player in summer.

Wenger has dropped Szczesny out from a first-team squad for a crucial match against Bayern Munich, saying it was due to concerns over Pole’s ‘mental’ state. This has fuelled the speculation that the player is on the verge of leaving the club. Taking into account Wenger’s reported attempts of signing a new goalkeeper in January (with the candidatures of Asmir Begovic, Simon Mignolet and Pepe Reina being seriously considered) these rumours could be not without some small grain of truth.

Szczesny himself is unlikely to come to terms with the prospect of being second-choice at the club and could be prepared to leave.
